Forbes vs US news: will the real number one stand up
Since Forbes released its ranking I have wanted to do a side by side comparrison with USNEWS. I noticed immeidately certain colleges got hammered in Forbes. Well someone else has done my work for me and it is very interesting:

Is it to your advantage to apply early?
Take the Ivies last year–remember both Princton and Harvard dumped their early programs last year. But the clear reality is applying early makes it appear that it is easier to get it.

At least according to Kaplan/Newsweek:“The 25 Hottest Schools in America”: schools that all offer top academic programs but are also generating extra buzz this year, whether due to recent events, trend-setting initiatives or other:

the proposal, UC admissions officers would review applications from a
pool of students they believe could succeed in the highly regarded
system but otherwise would not qualify for admission.
