An interesting podcast from the dean of admission at Yale. He outlines the admission process from Yale and pulls out a letter written over two geenrations ago by the legendary President of Yale, Kingman Brewster. The current dean of admission says that this is all still true today.

Two weeks ago I presented at ECIS conference in Spain to group of college admission professionals and international high school counselors. The presentation explored three distinct aspect of the read/write web also known as web 2.0:

US News, following the logical next steps of ranking colleges, hospitals, law schools has now come out to rank high schools. Apparently people want it:
On the three days that the ranking and 2,000 pages of supporting
material were posted on the magazine’s Web site, it received five
million page views, including 500,000 unique visitors.
