You got to love the folks at the collegeboard. Apparently, the writing scores may not be as strong as they were say last year. Surprise, they changed the test: “This is because, for the first time since the introduction of the new SAT, the 2006 PSAT/NMSQT writing skills section is based on the new SAT writing section (rather than the old SAT II Writing Subject test).” They advise the students not to worry and that their lower score is actually better! Just add three or four points.
